Melting Glacier Patagonia Chile

Mattias our guide there from Remota said the glaciers are now melting at rates of speed never seen before.

About 40 times faster than normal. There is not enough new snow for the glaciers to recover faster than they are melting.

While we were in New Zealand last year the Maori referred to glaciers as our ancestors.

If you think about it, we are 70-90% water and these are ancient blocks of solid water, it makes senses.

Obviously we need to do more to respect our ancestors, as there demise also marks and makes reference to our own.
