This New Moon in Capricorn (12/27 4:22 am PST) offers us an important window to explore our relationship to power, step more fully into ours, and commit to long-range goals that align with who we really are.
As the Sun king is reborn (solstice), we find this new Moon (also a rebirth of light) aligned with the god of war (Mars), and the lord of the underworld (Pluto). Hmm... that sounds a little bit threatening.
How can we help these energies unfold in wholeness and health over the course of the next couple weeks (and the next fifteen years)?
Pluto is just making his final shift into Capricorn- where he'll be for the next fifteen years (last time was just before the American Revolution). Capricorn is about our relationship to power, authority, and responsibility. Pluto digs up whatever we're not dealing with that we need to. His lessons are big, long-term ones that often show up through short-term trauma or drama and give us some helpful pain for transformation. Two years ago, we had a shift in our reality, when Pluto was demoted to a "dwarf planet." This name shift is a very appropriate one. Pluto comes from the Greek "Plutous" which means "wealth." Pluto is smaller than our Moon, and about a third of his orbit falls inside the orbit of Neptune. He serves as a bridge between the darkness of deep space and the larger bodies of our solar system. He digs for hidden wealth. That sure sounds like a dwarf to me!
Pluto was discovered right around Hitler's rise to power, and some astrologers have nicknamed it "the dictator." When Pluto conjoined the Ascendant of the United States' chart, we saw the election of George W. Bush, the 9/11 drama, and the same old projection of our collective shadow onto the "powers that be." I think we've seen enough of this story. Let's claim responsibility for co-creating the reality we want to be a part of.
This month should show us a little bit more about what the collapse of our economy is really going to look like. Take this time to dig deeper (Pluto) into aligning your actions and drives (Mars) with what you assign power and value to (Capricorn). What are your core values? What are your priorities? Who do you choose to empower? How are you creating a more sustainable future? How are you building networks of support? If we're moving out of the paradigm of "power over," what are we moving into?
Thanks for taking the time to do the inner work this month.
Thanks for participating in this healing forum.
Thanks for showing up in your power.
Peace. Passion. Presence.
