Existence
Everything in evolution moves.
Movement is synonymous with change.
All movement is sacred, even when it unfolds without awareness.
All creatures move.
Only humans dance.
Dance is movement entering the mode of self-awareness.
It is Spirit’s response to the joy of physical embodiment.
Sacred dance is the epitome of conscious movement.
It is a whole-body prayer, indulged to express wonder before Life and a desire to be as One.
It involves knowing participation in the play of the Universe.
It is undertaken with awareness and expresses our delight at being alive.
It is a primary instrument of Spirit’s continuing self-revelation.


Humanity
We are each born with gifts we must deliver to the world.
Fulfilment comes as we achieve this purpose.
Freedom is the bliss of its expression.
It comes of doing gladly that which we must do.
Our souls long to grow and be expressed,
Yet we are paralysed by habits, traumas, inhibitions.
Habitual movement reflects inner stuckness.
By making movement conscious, we allow it to become spontaneous.
Conscious movement is a powerful vehicle for transformation.
As it unfolds, we retrieve lost gifts of our forgotten spontaneity.
This brings renewed awareness of the purpose for which we were born.
It activates the soul’s latent healing powers, restores our will to adventure and opens us to the Grace of the Transpersonal.


Cosmos
The Grace of the Transpersonal is carried by currents of the Cosmos.
These are direct expressions of the Divine Plan
As birdsong is or the shining of a star.
We can’t register them due to our conditioning
And resist their efforts to move through us
Even though they push us towards fulfilment.
Opening to them, remembering that spontaneity and necessity are One
We ride winds of a Power we have been cultured to deny.
This is what it means to go with flow.
Our greater life is waiting always to be lived.
Seeing again that we are not other than this Cosmos,
Nor different from the rest of All That Is except
By virtue of our ability to be still and know that I AM God,
We move in conscious unison with Destiny.
Such stillness comes in movement when, centred,
We become a place through which Creation streams.


Practice
Moving, we express the truth of who we are,
Our freedoms and frustrations all one piece.
Becoming conscious, we add clarity to this display.
Unburdened of what no longer serves,
We lend beauty to what once could not be seen.
Thus encouraged, the soul’s truth pushes harder.
It comes to surface as old tensions are relaxed.
New forms of expression manifest as
We move through surrender into flow
And flowing into ecstasy we build
A charge to ignite Spirit within and
Call Spirit Home around us, shaping
An exact vehicle for One who moves through
All, in Whom all things move and are moved.
