Kyrgyz Music Camp

Recently, the Ordo Sakhna group completed its second tour around North America, and people have
shown enthusiasm towards their music. As a result, Ordo Sakhna will
invite a select group of 20 individuals from around the world to
participate in a study of Kyrgyz Music in Kyrgyzstan. Students will
live in traditional Kyrgyz yurts, dine on traditional Kyrgyz cuisine,
and learn the Kyrgyz language. The 10-day workshop camp is part of a
14-day educational stay in Kyrgyzstan, allowing students to experience
the wide scope of Kyrgyz culture. In addition to intensive classes with
master artists/ teachers, the program will include visits to Shamanic
ceremonies and sacred sites, a wide range of performances including
Ordo Sakhna rehearsals, and daily encounters with local artist and the
general community. This program is a rare opportunity for participants
to be a part of one of the most vibrant and creative cultures in the
world.
